Happy New Year! Wow time really flies when you're super busy. Its already a decade now since we last turned into the millennium. Aspiration and wishes this year is to do better than last year and to make life more meaningful and cherish every moment with our love ones. Life is really too short and we such make the very best of it. I also hope for world peace and that everyone is able to live harmoniously and not fight all the time. You tend to look at life, especially your own life differently when you have a child and caring for another persons well being. Every thought that you had about how your life is supposed to be changes and now you not only plan for your on life but also for you child's life. It's quite challenging and yet exciting. :)

Well, I'm not sure what I'm rambling or writing here but would like to wish everyone a Happy and Joyous New Year. Welcome the year 2010!!!

Bukit Tinggi 2009

We decided to take Isabel to see rabbits at the Bukit Tinggi Resort. At first she was a little scared of the rabbits but after watching other kids petting them and chasing the rabbits around, she soon followed suit.

The weather on that day was hot, also packed with people - school holiday season. The last time we visited this place was when we started dating back in 2004. It's been a while but the place hasn't changed much. Still looks the same.

Ever since she turn 1, she's been growing up really fast. Still breast feeding her. Quite demanding as she keeps on insisting on my breast. Still wondering how to wean her. Her motor skills as improve a lot more. Like you can see from the pics above, she's now able to put shapes in. She's also eating more now. Starting to eat rice and soup now and also taking in more meat like fish and chicken. Started her on formula but she doesn't seem to like it unless its chilled, so now she's drinking fresh full cream milk. She calls it 'moo moo' milk from cow not mummy :P

Still talking lots of gibberish, but can understand a lot of what we say which is kinda scary cause we got to start to watched what we say. Can say 'neng neng' means pretty in chinese and the word 'no', 'there', 'clock' and 'moo'. She weighs about 9.8 kg now and is 76 cm long. Doc says she's quite average. Did not fuss again when she went to have her chicken pox injection.

It's been almost a year now since I went out to dinner/functions. It was nice to be out. These are pictures of us at Rebecca and CP's Wedding at the Westin. Angeline Theng also got married this year. Lots of wedding this year, another was Phililp's friend Chee Wee and Alice, not forgetting Matthew and Ivin, lastly Wei Fern and Julian.

Chiang Mai 2009

Selamat Hari Raya!!! We are heading over to Chiang Mai for the break.

Day 1 - The night before I was worried if we packed too much or too little, worried if HY will be ok with food abroad since this is the first time we are traveling out of M'sia. Worried that she will not enjoy the flight and have equalization problem. So many times kept mummy up all night. But thank god all the worries turn out well, was blessed that we didn't have too much of a problem traveling with her for the first time. Mummy had packed all her toys and brought all her friends along - Monkey and Domo. Leona stayed over to take us to the LCCT Terminal the next morning. We got up early and headed out before 7am. Our flight was at 10am. Arrived at LCCT just in time but our flight was delayed for over 2 hours due to bad weather up north. Isabel was getting a little cranky - partly cause she misses her morning nap and it was close to lunch time. We boarded the plane and soon after she fell right to sleep got up just when we were about to take off - engines were loud. Ate her lunch (mummy and daddy's rice) then went right to sleep till we landed in Chiang Mai. Our taxi was waiting for us when we got there. It took us about 15-20 mins to reach the hotel from the airport. I had booked us to stay at Imperial Maeping just near the night Bazaar. Our taxi guy turn out to be a lawyer and also suggested that we visited some places while we were here. After checking in, baby and I rested while daddy went to do some exploring around. Daddy was looking to check out some kickboxing matches. Isabel and I slept, ate and changed. We took a walk around the hotel then later out to the night bazaar for some food and shopping. It was really nice that the hotel was so close to the shopping area. Was getting kinda tiring carry baby :P We had dinner at Ping Ping Seafood Restaurant - food was great, the beer was really refreshing too. After dinner, we strolled around the market before heading back to the hotel. Baby and I stayed back and sleep while daddy when to watch a kickboxing match just next door.

Day 2 - We visited Doi Suthep temple up on the hill. The view was amazing. Isabel would bowed each time we pay respect to the Buddha in the temple. So cute! On the way down we visited a couple of tourist places, how they make Thai Silk, Gemstones and also Leather goods. We got back to the hotel around 2 pm. We headed over to McD's to have Pork Burger....so yummy! Only wished they would have it M'sia. Anyhow, we went back to the hotel, rested had a light snack before we headed out to the Night Safari. Overall, the Safari ride was interesting. Our guide was really nice to us. We saw lots of deers, different types of species too many to name the only one I remembered was Impala :P Isabel saw zebras, elephants, tigers and many more animals. The amazing thing is she could recognized them. At the end of the night, they had a laser water show. Was quite impressive.
Day 3 - The next day we visited a few more Wat's around the city. One of which was so old that the architecture of buildings were similar to that of Angkor Wat's time. After visiting all the temples, daddy needed to do some muay thai shopping to get his gears. Finally found a place that sold gloves. :) On the way back, we treated ourselves for some Thai Massage. Daddy got a full body massage while mummy got a foot massage and pedicure. Isabel was running all over the massage room. After the massage we had a light snack opposite the hotel, tried the famous Chiang Mai noodles....they are really tasty and yummy. We also managed to squeeze in some pool time at the hotel. Later, that nite we went out to dinner at the night market and also managed to do some last minute shopping. Bought a couple of t-shirts and dresses.

Day 4 - Time to packed up and head on home. We will definitely miss Chiang Mai. It's such a beautiful place to visit. Flight was on time and Isabel slept on the plane. She managed to catch take off and landing. She seems ok and was really enjoying her time on the plane. Next trip Bali can't wait!

Cameron Highlands Family Trip 2009

The day right after the party, daddy decided that we should take a family trip with Grandpa and Grandma to Cameron Highlands. Since Isabel loves the cold weather, we decided to take her on her first vacation there. We stayed at Strawberry Park Resort (they had a promotion going on). 3bedroom apt, cosy and nice. We left around 10 ish stop in Bidor for lunch then took us about another 45 mins to reach Tanah Rata. By the time we got there it was time for tea. So we decided to stop by Bala's for some tea and scones. Right after tea we checked into the hotel. We all rested for a bit before heading out again to dinner at Hongkong Restaurant - Steamboat dinner. Food was nice :) The weather that nice was brrrr....cold, just perfect!

Day2 - we had breakfast at the hotel. Isabel tried all sorts of food - porridge, pancakes, scones and muffins. She like them all. After breakfast we headed out for some sight seeing. Stop at the butterfly farm first. Isabel had real fun looking at the butterflies come to live. We were about to head out to the Boh Tea Plantations but was told that they close on Mondays. Next we went to checked out the market near Equatorial Hotel. Then over to Raju's Strawberry Farm, there I met Oi Ti classmate from high school. Isabel loves strawberry and the aunty there gave her a whole bunch to eat, she was really happy. Strawberry for lunch! On the way down we stop by Cactus world to see some nice cactus. It was starting to pour, so we headed back to hotel. Isabel took her nap while the rest of rested and chill out. Since we didn't have our lunch, we decided to have an early dinner. This time we head on over to Brinchang to try out some hot hot charcoal steamboat. Food was again fantastic.

Day 3 - We got up early to take Grandma and Grandpa to the bus stop. They are heading back to Penang today. After we drop them off, we headed back to the hotel for breakfast. We changed, packed and got ready to head out close to check out time. Daddy had some problems getting my carseat out, so it took a while before we checked out. We head over to Raju's to pick up some Strawberries, then over to the Boh Tea Farm. Isabel had fun running around. Took some really nice shots of her. Right after that we did some light shopping, stop by Cameron Valley Bharat Tea shop from some tea and scones before we headed back down, this time using the old Tapah road. It took so much longer and it was raining quite a bit too. Finally got home, Isabel slept most of the journey back down. Was really glad she did, if not she'll be making lots of fuss and moving about in the car :( Overall, we had fun, next trip next week Chiang Mai. Woohooo Thailand here we come!!!

Hooray!!! Our little girl has finally turn 1. She has grown so much in the last 12 months, its unbelievable. She's no longer a baby now, she's a little toddler now. My baby is all grown up :P
Am still breastfeeding the little girl, still unable to wean her. She's so much more demanding now, she knows how to lift my shirt for milk and in the mornings will bring mickey or domo over for me to feed them and then she will yank them away and help herself to milk. Too cheeky!

She's on a more regular schedule now, she gets her naps twice a day and she goes to bed early less cranky then before. The new thing is she's learning how to throw tantrums and when she gets really 'mung' she will come over and bite me. Bad Bad Girl! Must learn how to control this before it get out of hand. She also know how to use her to cry's to demand for things.
She still bites on anything and everything. Its scary cause she'll put just about anything in her mouth. She has another 2 more teeth now. Total 8 now. More teething blues to come...She's walking really steady now, have yet to visit the doc for her 12 month old check up and to get her inoculations.

We celebrated her birthday with some her friends Ning Shan, Wei Tjen, Reka, Sophie-Ana, Oscar, Alyssa and cousin Yi shyian. We had a small gathering of family and friends with their kids, mainly a kids party. She had so much fun playing with everyone, dancing to lady gaga and playing with balloons. Had lovely cake from Patisserie Rui - Mickey mouse creations! Very very lovely. The kids like it alot!

It was a public holiday for Selangor and all of us were free. Mom had some free tickets to Sunway Lagoon, so we all decided to make it trip there. It's been a while since I last went there (almost like over 10 years) so old man. I remember those Salem Celebrations days when we would get like free passes to go. We spent almost 4 hours there, weather was really nice. Isabel had a blast at the wave pool. We all got a bit of tan, my poor girl will be so dark for her 1st birthday :P

We also had loads of fun on the rides especially on the spinning cup. Fiona and Vic was going super crazy on it. After all the fun and games we were super hungry, head over to Sunway Pyramid for some before heading home. The little one was so beat that she slept the whole journey home.

Isabel's new ride - Thank you daddy. One day I will fly a real plane :)

Wow so many things happen this month, another month more before she turns one. Amazingly, she can walk well even run about at times. Very playful don't want to take her naps. Started eating pasta and noodles, seems to like it a lot. Tried Yogurt Ice Cream and Chocolate candy. Very greedy and wants to eat everything we eat.

She's grown much taller now, how we know?? Cause the clothes are shrinking and getting smaller :P Indication to start getting her more clothes especially PeeJays. She has a bit more hair. Her two top teeth are starting to come out. Another 2 on the bottom coming out as well. All together 6. Learning how to blow stuff, hopefully she'll be able to blow the candles on her cake.

I'm still breastfeeding her, its like never ending. Trying to wean her, painful process for both mummy and baby. She's biting on me now since her top 2 teeth are out. Hurts like hell. Been reading this book "No Cry Solution" wish I could have gotten it earlier, could have solve many of her sleeping habit. I'm nursing her to sleep every day, its a habit and now trying to change that its quite difficult. Must set goal and persist. I found out that a lot crankiness and things I observed about Isabel due to her sleep. If she sleeps better, I guess both mummy and her a lot happier :)

2 more months and our little one will be turning 1 years old. She's growing up really fast and I just want her to remain like this. She's talking a lot of gibberish now, mostly screaming out loud. Can stand on her own for a longer period of time. I think anytime soon she will start to walk which is scary. I guess I'll be even more busier chasing her around the house. She loves to dance to music, its really cute to see her shake her booty to the beat of the music. Fav music - "Jai Ho" by the PCD and Lady Gaga "Just Dance n Poker Face". Isabel also hates to wear clothes right after her bath, mummy has to play catch everytime. Even worst when it comes to wearing diapers, that's why the invented the pull up pants. Have to get me some of those :)

She's also quite adventurous and daring, climbing down on her own from our 3ft high bed. Recognizes more people now and getting use to more people around her. She understands a lot more words now, e.g. "Bu Ke Yi" means no no no and she would shake her hands and know she's not suppose to do certain things...but she will still try to defy mummy once in a while. Must not use it too often only when necessary. She's also started to eat types of food now but Porrigde still the main choice. Fav fruit - Banana, apples and grapes.

9 Months Old plus Road Trip

I'm 9 months old and I'm growing taller and stronger by the day. Both my bottom teeth are out am waiting anxiously for the top ones to come out. Am bitting on everything. I can stand momentarily on my own. Play ball with daddy and grandma. Speak gibberish that only I can understand :P I love dogs and cats, get very excited when I see them. I can also wave bye bye. I understand alot of words now. I like attending classes at Gymboree, loads of fun, I get to crawl everywhere, play ball and catch bubbles. My parents thinking of signing me up for more classes :P

This month daddy decided to take a road back up north to see my Grandparents and Great Grandma. Journey there wasn't too bad I behave ok in the car. Daddy says we may go up to Cameron next month for another family trip.

This is me at Grandparents house - Mummy went to the hair saloon, both grandparents and daddy took care of me. They had a fun time :P I even poo poo and daddy had to change me for the first time. Daddy and grandpa was so grossed out but they had no choice. Daddy also put me down for a nap by rocking me for 45 mins. Happy Father's Day!!!

We also went over to Butterworth to visit Great Grandma (Chor Chor). I was ok didn't cry much and was happy crawling around the living room. Later that night we went to have Steamboat. Everyone liked the food...very yummy they say but it was rather hot for me.

I'm 8 Months Old!

2 Weeks ago I fell sick...no its not the H1N1 A Virus but Roseola. Had high fever for 3 days then followed by rashes all over my body. At the same, both my bottom teeth came piercing out too. Even though I was sick, I was still very active and kept mummy and daddy up. This is the first time I got sick and I was really cranky and cried a lot. My gum's hurts a lot so mummy applied Greenzhi on it to make it better :)

I love eating mommy's porridge especially with the pork in them...yum yum! I eat more now and sleep a bit more cause I'm crawling all over the place, plus I love to stand and cruise on the furniture. I've also started to sit on the walker but the only thing I can drive it is backwards :P

I love my Mickey Mouse and love watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse :) Can't wait for Daddy and Mummy to take me to Disneyland to see Mickey in person. YEAH!!!

But most all I love to SWIM!!! Luckily the weather has been quite warm and I have been going down to the pool more often. My aunties also came over recently to swim with me :)

More Swimming Adventure

Mummy bought me 2 floats to swim in. The yellow float from Toy's R Us where I get to sit up in the water. The other called the mambo float...give me opp to get wet and move more freely in the water. I was not too comfortable using them at first but got use to it now. I really like swimming in the bubble pool. The last few days, the weather here is just perfect for me to get some swim time.

This is me playing with my toys.

I'm getting bigger and taller day by day. I'm almost 7kg now. Mummy's been feeding me lots lots and solid food. I have like 3-4 meals a day. I'm also very active, ever since I learn how to tummy crawl and turn over, I've been busy exploring. Now, I can sit up on my own without any help :) Also, am more vocal, learning to talk and make more sounds. My first word so far is "da da" n "there there".

Here is my current schedule:

7am - Wake up - Nursing time
8.00am - Breakfast
9.00am - Bath time
10.00am - Nap time - Nursing time
Noon - Lunch
1.00pm - Playtime/Outing to Grandma's
3.30pm - Nap time - Nursing time
5.30pm - Snack time
6.00pm - Playtime
6.30pm - Dinner time
7.00pm - Bath time
8.30pm - Join mummy and daddy for dinner
9.30pm - Bedtime
11.00pm - Nursing time

Yi Shyian 1st Brithday

It's Yi Shyian first b'day and my grandparents were in town. Daddy decided to take us all to Genting. I really like the cold weather there. Both my grandparents tried their luck at the slot machines while mummy and I went walking around the hotel. Here's pics of me with daddy at the main resort hotel.

My cousin's is 1 years old already. Mine will be up very soon. It was a Lok Lok B'day party. I think daddy like it alot. Mummy not a big fan of the lok lok but I had fun playing with my cousin.

Also here's a video of my first word "da da", mummy is very jealous and upset coz I didn't said "ma ma" instead I said daddy first.

I've been eating more now. I really do enjoy my food. Especially like when mummy cooks me porridge. Thanks to Aunty Sewei who has loan me this high chair I can eat and play more now.

I’m still a tiny little baby. Weighing just under 6kg, 5.9kg to be exact. I’m 65cm long now. Doc says I’m a healthy and active baby. Took my jabs again, didn’t fuss again. I can turn from side to side now and also able to sit up (still wobbly). I’m trying to communicate with my mummy and daddy (baby talk) but don’t think they quite understand me yet. I have a pair of teeth on the bottom gums waiting to come out. Sometimes I get real fussy and cranky when they hurt. Lately, my sleep patterns have been quite erratic, its driving my parents crazy. I don’t really like sleeping. I can stand up tall with support and crawl on my tummy. I’ve now started to eat solids and my poo poo is very very sticky and stinky too. I’m growing up fast and strong.

International Hot Air Balloon Fest 2009

I missed going out to take photos. Since this is the first time Malaysia plays host to the Hot Air Balloon Fest, we decided to go check it out last weekend. It was a really hot hot evening, sun was blaring away. It took us quite fast to get to Putrajaya on the new MEX highway. Once we got there, it was a madhouse. The whole place was jammed pack. I guess everyone had nothing better to do and was all out at the same time. We saw lots of families with kids and also photo enthusiast. We were quite lucky and managed to find parking nearby. We managed to grab a quick bite before the event started. It was supposed to start at 5.45pm but it only started close to 6.30pm.

It’s really cool to see the balloon take off. It did take them a while to get the balloon up and flying away. Was really looking forward to see the Elephant balloon, but was sad that it didn’t manage to take off as it was way too late to fly then. My favorite was the orange balloon J Here’s some of the photo’s I managed to take of the balloons.

My First Solid Food

I've been waiting a long while to eat now. Mummy and daddy has been tempting me with their food but never ever let me try. Finally the long awaited moment has arrived, I get to taste what solid food taste like. It's actually quite yummy. Both mummy and daddy took turns trying to feed me. I ate about 10 spoons full :) Looking forward to taste more good food. So far, I've tried some bread and I like it a lot. Plus 2nd weeks menu was carrot....yum. Next week some sweet potatoes and maybe peas.

Happy Birthday daddy!!!!

It was a long and fun filled day. Followed daddy to the temple to do Dana. After which we went to the national blood bank where daddy donated blood. For lunch, we went to TGIF :) Came home rested and then we went to Subang for Dinner @ Rakuzen. Food was delicious :) Mummy also bought cake for daddy....hope daddy's wishes all come true. Isabel got invited to her first birthday party. The party took placed at the ZOO. I guess mummy n daddy was more excited than Isabel. Not too sure if she enjoyed it but we enjoyed taking her and showing her the animals. Our Zoo is kinda sad, animals don't look very happy...I guess who would be if you're caged up all the time. Anyhow, Isabel got to see her favorite animal the Elephant. By the time we got to the elephant she's was already very tired and sleepy :)

We didn't do much...just a quite dinner at home. Decided to have steamboat...so we went out shopping to get the stuff and came home to cook. Well, I just realized that it's been over a month since my last post. I was really busy getting ready for CNY...stressed out mostly. Trying to get everything done in such short time. I managed to complete all my task though. However, the whole CNY happened so fast hardly had time to enjoy and the usual stuff. This year only got to "Loh Sang" once :( plus didn't really get to play mahjong...*sob*sob

Once again we headed back to Penang, the journey was ok, took us about 4 hours plus to reach. We sat in daddy's new car...first time back to Penang. Packing and loading took about 1 hour. We only had 1 suitcase, the rest of the car boot was filled with Isabel's things. We spent about a week there :) Isabel loved collecting angpows :) anything red and shinny she will grab. LOL

We were supposed to have this dinner last year during our 1 year anniversary but couldn't since baby Isabel arrival. Therefore we had to postpone it. Thank god the hotel was nice enough to extend it. We had our little dinner at Bossanova, Parkroyal. Brazillian food. The food was awesome, we even had lobster. Isabel was really interested to eat it though. She was fussing alot that night, wanting lots of attention :P But the 3 of us had a good time.

Doctor's Visit - 4 Months

This time around doc say everything is good and ok. I'm just a little under weight :P I guess that's because I'm very active. I weigh 5.3kg now and I'm 61cm long. This time around also didn't make a fuss or cry when I got my jabs. Quite brave :) Only cry a little when doc tried to feed me the Rotavirus medication (I have to take it orally) :( Doc says cannot waste cost lots of money.

Mummy and I made it to the doctors and back fine without daddy this trip. I'm a big girl now and can sit in my seat on my own now.

Time really flies when you're super busy. The days seems to passed on by really fast. The little one is already 4 months old. This is what she can do now....she has progressed so much and so fast its unbelievable.

Little Hoong Yann's First Christmas :)

This year is baby's first Christmas, we didn't do much but it was somewhat a busy day for us. The night before we had dinner with mama and came home later change into my pee jays (sponsored by Aunty Linli). The next morning, got up early and had my bath and changed into my Christmas outfit (also sponsored by Aunty Linli). I look so cute in it. especially with the reindeer hat. After my nap, mummy and Aunty Leona took me to Aunty Yen's Christmas Party!!!! I guess I was still sleepy so I was fussing a lot and then knocked out there, even though the place was so happening and noisy. I slept the whole journey back :P

Once we got home, I played with Grandma and for the first time I was able to laugh out loud (chuckle chuckle all the way). Also Grandma made me wear her wig, this is me with lots and lots of hair. How do I look?

This is my first time back to the temple since I was born. Mummy and daddy dragged me out of bed on Sunday to go the temple. I was at my best behavior till the whole ceremony started. When it was finally our turn, I was crying lots. It was really a hot morning and i missed my bath time. Right after the ceremony, we went to the main shrine hall to get blessing from the monk. The monk said that I'm very fierce as I was making a fuss while he was doing the blessing :P
Anyhow, once we got into the car and on the way home I was ok :)

My first Holiday - Damai Laut Resort

Daddy had some time off and decided that we should go on a family trip to either Pangkor Island or Cameron Highlands. So mummy was in charge of finding a place so that we can go on my first holiday. It's raining season now and also school holidays, mummy had a tough time finding accommodation in Cameron at this last minute trip. Pangkor Island was also fully booked. So the next best choice was Damai Laut. Near the sea and not too far away from home.

We left Thurs morning around noon. Daddy's car was packed with all my stuff :P We had lunch at the Sg. Buloh Jejantas before we headed off to Lumut. Traffic was ok, I slept all the way there. Took us about 3 and a half hours to reach Damai. Our room was really nice, I even had my own bed :) I also love taking bath in the long bath tub. I had so much fun that I didn't want to get out hehehe was fussing alot when mummy took me out. Mummy and daddy also took me to the beach but I was so sleepy that morning I slept thru the scenic walk.

Daddy n Mummy had dinner at a nearby Seafood Restaurant called Hailam Seafood Restaurant. Food there was really good and reasonable. It was really nice to spend so much time with daddy and mummy. We should do it more often :)

Weekend Trip to Penang

Aunty Leona - Drifting Donut :P

2 weeks ago, my mom decided to drive to Penang as Leona had a Red Bull Event there. So my mom asked if I wanted to tag along, bring baby to see Grandpa and also Grand Uncle and Aunty in Penang. Since, Phil had lots of program on in the weekend, I decided to tag along. Only had like 3 hours to pack stuff before my mom came to pick us up. The whole car was filled pretty much with all baby stuff. It's like moving house :P

We left around 7pm, was rather jam and it started to rain too. Isabel sat in her car seat less than 30 mins before making a huge fuss. The whole journey there both my mom and I carried her as she slept thru till we got to Penang at Midnight.

We stayed at Ah Nyeong place as it was easier, both my mom and aunt can help me take care of her. My MIL was in India. Must thank cousin Sze Wye for giving up his room. Baby slept ok but I guess had hard time adjusting, since she cried alot. I guess new schedule and place didn't agree so well with her. But overall, managed ok. The very next day we met Grandpa for dinner at "5 STAR", unfortunately...she fuss fuss again :( mummy sad cause couldn't calm her down. Found out the reason she was fussing was that she wanted to poop but couldn't until we got back.

I love to see the world pass me by n also love sucking my hands :)

We left Monday after lunch. We had lunch in Island Glades and then we pop over to see Grandpa before taking off. During our ride home, she slept thru till we reach back KL. Her daddy misses her alot that weekend, although he had some quite time alone :) We will visit Penang soon probably end of the year to see the Grandparents again.

Nagomi Restaurant

Philip has always wanted to take there to eat. The last attempt didn't turn out so well, bad service from the Hartamas Branch. This time we tried at the new Jaya 33 outlet. Food was yummy...very hot I must say since its shabu shabu. Was great to eat sashimi again :) The only thing was we could eat all together. We had to take turns as baby was fussing alot. But we managed ok :) We finally got her to sleep in the end. Phew!!!! what a night!!

Today marks that I'm 2 months old already. My mummy has been taking good care of me, feeding me and giving me baths. I look forward every morning for my splish splash session. After which I will take my nap and then later get up to play for a little bit and back to sleep again. Although, I get fussy during the evenings mummy and daddy patiently talks and rocks me. I think I may be suffering from colic.

Just 2 days back mummy and daddy took me to see the doc for my inoculations. I was such as good girl and I didn't make any fuss. I was such a brave girl. Doc says I''m growing bigger and stronger since my last visit. I'm now 57 cm long and weighs 4.3kg. Thanks to mummy eating lots and lots of cheese I've been growing quite a bit.

Home Sweet Home

Came home after a few days rest at the hospital. Glad to be home but now the home has expanded. No more 2, its now 3. My mom pick up the confinement lady (quite young only 40 plus) I didn't have much food at home. So both my mom and Phil had to do some shopping :P
It was tough the first few nights....Isabel just keep all of us up all night long especially mommy since, I was the one feeding her every hour. Didn't get much sleep the first few days. It got better later, reason I didn't have enough milk plus my diet not high in calories so baby not full after feeds. Therefore I had to eat more (how am I ever going to loose them pounds :( )

Second week was a little easier, only woke up once to feed at night, but when 3rd week came it mommy had to feed like 2 times not that bad. Weird thing is she nurse like every hour from 8pm-Midnight and then sleeps thru. Wonder if that's normal? Anyhow, all baby do, eat-sleep-shit-and cry lots.

Confinement nanny make my whole place so oily and sticky, ruin my frying pan (cause she cooks at high heat) and messed up my kitchen. Cooking so far ok, can't complain. Phil don't like it since she likes to fry stuff (especially fry fish), cooking is quite dry and he hates food with no gravy. The lady sleeps with baby and me...she snores really loud. Baby too makes lots of noises when she sleeps. Cleanliness of baby - 7/10. Give excuses to not use cloth diapers. Overall, I would give her a rating of 6/10.

Labor Pains

It's been close to a month now and baby Isabel is going to turn 1 month old very soon. Mummy has been so busy feeding and trying to catch up on sleep and some work around the house. It's quite tiring. Not too sure where to begin, so many things happen in the last few weeks. Can't believe it's going to be 1 month now.

Well, I guess I will start with labor pains.....started around midnight, since the doctor as me to time my contractions I started noting them down. Couldn't really get much sleep that night. At about 3am went to the bathroom to pee and had some spotting. There and then I thought...times up. Quickly, took a long shower (knowing that it would be a long while before I can enjoy a nice long bath :P) wash my hair, got dress and blow dry my hair. Woke up Phil told him its time, he got ready while I tidy up the house. We even had time to do some chanting before leaving the house at 6am. It was raining then...we even stopped by Mcd's to grab breakfast before heading to the hospital.

Check in to the labor ward at around 6.45am got me into my special suite. Doc came later and said that I was 4cm dilated. Will probably be another 6 more plus hour before I'm fully dilated.
Contractions started to feel much more stronger at around 8am....at that point couldn't tahan much. So I ask if I can have Epi, the nurse ask me to try the gas first. It didn't really do much for me only make me more sleepy. Later around 9.30 the doc to give me my epi shot and after that things were much more bearable. I wonder how our mothers/grandmothers did it in the good old days!!! Amazing!!! for me the pain was just too much too handle. I rested till lunch, Phil kept me company. After Friday prayers, doc came and said that it was time, that I can start pushing already. My mommy came too but she was in and out of the room cause she can't stand the sight of blood. Not too long after that Little Isabel came out to meet mommy and daddy at last. All in all a long long painful process which I will probably prolonged having another baby for a long time (by now I'm starting to forget a little by little - who knows in a couple more years).

Moon Cake Festival

Looks like this year, I may have to spend Moon cake Festival in the hospital. With only a few days left, baby may choose to come then. Gossip Girl

Linli suggested that I watch this new show called Gossip Girl. It was very intriguing at the the beginning. Lots of scandals and gossip, hahaha totally a chick drama. And since I have some time to kill, decided to check it out. Now hook to it. Only a few more episode to the end of season one.

I'm beginning not to like Jenny and Chuck, Love Dan and Serena they look so cute, but what's up with this new Buffy girl (evil evil woman). It was getting interesting and then she shows up to messed things up. Argh!!! Me no like!!! Blair was kinda mean and a total "B" but her character is really cool. Anyhow, better finish watching as baby is due soon. Hahaha still not here maybe wants mummy to watch finish the whole season first :P So cute!

Early Birthday Celebration - So old already ;P

Since it was only 1 day left to the due date, I decided that maybe I should celebrate my birthday early this year. Wanted to have a BBQ Bash but it seems that every time I try to plan one, the weather does not agree with me. So my mom and sis suggested we do lunch instead and since I've been craving for Peking duck the last 2 weeks we all decided to have some.

I surfed the web to find a good place to eat and with some luck we found a winner. Oriental Restaurant @ Jaya 33 serves a pretty good mean Peking Duck. That is the review of what I read online. So I made reservations, to have lunch there. Peking Duck cost RM68 for 2 orientation course. First the skin, then next we had duck fried rice. Yummy!!! Lastly, the top it off we had blueberry yogurt cake from cake-sense. Happy Birthday to ME!! Yeay! Mom said that after eating the duck, baby should be happy now and can come out d.

Well, today is due date and still no signs yet. So we wait patiently at home and see what happens in the next few days. Mummy in the mean time shall continue to nest, do laundry and watch TV.

Next they showed us to our table, never ask if we wanted drinks or said they'll be back shortly to take order. Wave and tried to get their attention several times but no luck. It seems like we were ghost, not even there at all. So we decided to leave. As we were walking out, the server who sat us earlier, said thank you for coming. Duh!!! We didn't even eat yet, really got short term memory!!! Ah horrible experience. If any of you thinking of going there to eat...think twice ya. SERVICE REALLY SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! So we headed over to Modesto to eat Salmon Fettuccine Pasta and Pizza. Quite yummy!

Clog Toilet in my study room

OMG!!!OMG!!! Yesterday evening, my toilet bowl started having bubbling sound @ around 5pm. Next thing you know it, there was grossed stuff coming out from the floor traps. An hour later we had a pool of water...dark chocolate one. Smells really bad too like shit. So I closed the door and right after we came back from dinner, the water level has risen almost to door level. The next morning, the mats that I have placed outside the door to prevent it from spilling over were all wet and the floors were starting to warped - actually warped d (which they "management" will have to fix now)

Early next morning, the guys from the management office came and poor Rosli and the worker had to clean the messed. Stinks of shit man, water in the morning has subsided. Apparently, the pipes seems to be stuck on the floor below and crap from people upstairs seems to be getting stuck in my toilet :(

So, after hours of checking...still no answers but we were told not to use the toilet for now until they can fix it the next day. However, my neighbors upstairs are either very inconsiderate or plain ignorant people (no cow sense)still taking their showers and doing their biz in there. As of 8.30pm today, it started to clog again. Called management to notify them...managed to stop it for a bit. Come home later after dinner and guess what...water level went up again. These people ah no consideration whatsoever. Makes me really mad to have such inconsiderate people as neighbors. We will have to see tom morning if the water level has drop or rise then we know how stupid these people can get. Am going to send a copy of this to apartment blog site too. ARGH!!! IDOITS!!!

Just wondering if I really felt real contractions this morning. It hurt for a bit but went away. It really feels like #2 stomach ache. But nothing came out. Sorry for grossing you people out there but yeah...not too sure how its suppose to feel like. Anyhow, it happened a few times but that's it. 1. 5am, 2. 9am and 3. 4pm

Suresh called to have lunch, so we meet up. Had lunch at the Vietnamese noodles place again, hehehe sorry no pics was too hungry. Next time! Then we went over to my cousins place in Jln Gasing for some dessert - Red Velvet Cupcakes. Yummy Yummy Yummy!

Next we went to Jln Kuchai Lama to BBStore to pick up last minute items for baby which were still on sale. Cot Bumper, Brush and Comb Set and Bottle Brushes.

Came home, checked mail and guess what got a small package all the way from Ruti, Switzerland. It's a set of T-shirt (I Love Daddy and I Love Mommy). So cute and adorable. Thanks Karen, Nigel and the girls for the lovely gift. We love it!

Merdeka Weekend

Visited the doctors on Friday with my mom. It seems that baby still doesn't seem like it going to come out this weekend. Still gaining weight so doc say could be another week. So we shall wait and see, in the meantime just take it easy.

Also, Quant Lynn was called to the Malaysian Bar today and now is a LAWYER!!!! We went there early in the morning, waited quite long as the Judge (My Lord = Yang Arif) has not arrived. E-Ling and Partners were there too. Finally after waiting for 1/2 hours the judge came. QL was the last one to be called. The first 2 person who was called has really long biographies of them. The 3rd person, had some complications with his BM exemption seeing that he went to school in Brunei, there were moments of panic there. But luckily it got sorted out and it was ok. The Judge really had lots to comments and was adding his 2 cents worth here and there (making really smart ass remarks) but he was really a funny guy. After the CALL, we adjourned outside to do some cam-hording. All pics are on my mom's camera, will have to wait for QL or Vic to send them to me.

We then went to Dragon-i for lunch in Sunway. Siu Long Pao and the Dong Pau Pork was so good...really yummy but mom said Esquire one better. After lunch sent vicky off to school then off we went to run our errands. By the time I got home, I was beat! So took a nap and by the time I got up it was dinner time. So since we didn't want to go far, decided to try this new Chicken Rice place @ Solaris called Tseng Chicken Rice. It was ok only, not that great, I still prefer PJ Satelite Chicken Rice. The other thing about this place it is also very pricey. For the same amount I could have eaten twice in PJ. Definately overly priced. This would be the first and last of us eating there again.

The next day, we went to lunch at Kar Heong Vietnamese Nooddle place. Then decided to go to the Curve. Getting there was a nightmare....jam like hell. Decided to try Midvalley also no luck. So came home and rest. In the evening, went to Chilis for dinner. We ordered the bottomless tostada chips, cajun chicken sandwich and the new "CRISPY HONEY-CHIPOTLE CHICKEN CRISPERS". Guess what happened...we ended up just sharing the new crispy chicken and had to doggie bag the cajun sandwich. It was just too yummy. Is a must try item. I absolutely LOVED it! Must order with mash potatoes...does not go too well with fries.

On Merdeka morning, decide to have Dim sum. So we had our breakfast at Jln Ipoh quite dissapointed as they only had the steam stuff. No fried dim sum. It was also expensive. Right after breakfast, we head on over to Curve & Ikano (needed to pick up breast pump accessories there) jalan-jalan for a bit since I'll be stuck at home for the rest of the week. On the way home stop by Village Grocer to pick up some groceries. Dinner we had fried noodles and fried rice at the back. Phil like the Yee Mee and Bee Hon Cantonese Fried Style :P

Next morning, we met my mom and sis for Dim Sum again but this time at Marcopolo Restaurant in Wisma Lim Foo Yong. Food was better than Jln Ipoh, more variety. Also as Hong Leong Credit Card holder, got promotion some more 50% off for Dim Sum on Sat and Public Hols for the month of Sept. Great Deal! If only we have known would have ordered more :P

All malls were quite packed, so we decided to stop by Hartamas Shopping Complex to see if the baby cot is ready. Nope still not ready yet....looks like it will take another week. Came home rested and as usual have to take my nap. Dinner time we went to Endoichi opposite Garden International for some Japanese food. I had unagi don...so yummy!

Came home just in time to watch house and called it the night. This whole weekend was just about shopping and eating :P

Still waiting and waiting and waiting (10 days more)

The last couple of days has been really boring and torturing for me. Not doing much just sitting around and nesting getting really bored. Sleeping patterns also upside down, waking up at 5am (to look for food) and taking naps in the evenings. No fun...but they say rest more now coz later you'll hardly get the chance.

Now anxious looking out for labor signs plus reading lots of books anticipating the MOMENT.....really not fun. ha ha ha but still not any major signs yet. Although the pre-labor symptoms listed in the books am experiencing it now e.g. The engagement, increase pressure on pelvis, change in energy levels, change in vaginal discharge, diarrhea, intensification of Braxton Hicks Contractions. Have not seen the pink or bloody show plus loss of mucous plug. 6/8 is not too bad...getting closer I think. Also, cravings have actually increase more these past weeks. So weird, suppose to decrease in appetite but seems to be eating more now. :P We will know more when we see the doctor tom for another weekly checkup.

Well, the good news is that we finally got the confinement person sorted out. Have not met her personally but got around to the agency today and manage to pay deposit for one. She'll come stay with us for 28 days and help to take care baby and mommy.

With only 12 days left to my delivery, got a call yesterday afternoon that my confinement lady is unable to come as she has fallen down and sprain/twisted her leg and now unable to walk. Why la?!!! Now got headache trying to figure out what to do next. Been surfing around the internet and found 2 confinement agency. So far, SHL Cares Sdn Bhd in Kepong responded and said they can help. Not sure if they are any good but some help is better than none. I guess I can't be choosy at this point. So have anyone used them before? Any good? Just wanted to know before I sign up with them.

Sophie and Ryan Surprise Visit

Lynda is back for summer holidays and guess what I was totally surprise to her. This was after Sophie's Full Moon dinner which I totally missed out cause I over slept.=(
Was really looking forward to it and felt really bad cause I didn't show up. Anyhow, we met for lunch the next day @ Delicious. It was really a nice surprise to see Lynda, Gordon and Ryan.

The next visit, we met Sophie....so cute and adorable. I got cake from Patisserie Rui - Flower Garden (Red Velvet) "so yummy" for all to try. Even Aunty Chor Ming dog had a go at it :P

So happy to see babies...can't wait for my little one to show up. Any day now!

Disney Animated Movie - Wall-E

This would probably be the last movie I get to watch in the cinema before baby arrives. It was so so only, love story mainly..Wall-e its really cute and adorable but I expected much more humor in the movie. Overall, the movie was ok only. 5 out of 10 I would rate it. I guess the other movies like Sex in the City, P.S I Love You and Maid of Honor is more my liking now...hehehe! After Kungfu Panda, quite hard to match.

Looking forward to Madagascar 2...saw the trailer. It's damn hilarious and I can't wait to see that.

Beijing Olympics 2008

It was last Friday, lots of event on Rhythmic Gymnastic, Synchronize Swimming and Taekwando. I'm only interested in the first 2 sports mentioned above...not Taekwando but since Phil can't watch so I watch a bit to let him know what's on. And guess what it was one of the most boring sport to watch. They are not really showing any skills or techniques but just hoping and bouncing around. A really complete waste of time to even have the sport in there. Anyhow, I enjoyed watching the other sports, my favorite Artistic Gymnastic. I really think that the Team from China n USA did really well.

This is Phil comment on the Taekwando

"I think the current Olympics Tae kwon Do should be completely taken out of the Olympics as an event. This event is a complete waste of time as I do not see any skills or techniques involved in this sport. I cannot understand what would compel a person to train for four years for the Olympics, only to spend maybe 20 seconds really fighting. Most of the time, I see the participants of this so-called sports dancing around like chickens in what resembles a Mexican cock fight. The fighters of this sport seem to be hugging each other every few seconds because they do not want to engage in proper combat. If hugging and dancing around in the ring seem to be the goal, perhaps the OIC should introduce ballroom dancing as a replacement for this sorry sport.

I did a search on the internet and the meaning of Tae Kwon Do and this is the translation Tae = kick, Kwon = punch/hand and Do = Art. I think the Olympic version of this sport should be renamed Round House Kick Do as this is the only kick executed by the participants and mentioned by the commentators every time. What happen to the punches, high spinning kicks, combination kick punches and high jump kicks which are the foundation of this very sport?

Furthermore, I understand that Tae Kwon Do Olympics does not necessary represent the best competitors in the world as there are a few equally strong governing bodies in the world of Tae Kwon Do.

Tae Kwon Do goes against the very motto of the Olympic; Swifter, Higher, Stronger. I do not see this sport demonstrating these qualities. Oh well maybe “swifter” round house kicks but not executed properly, “higher” the screams as if being possessed by the devil in a sorry B rate movie, and “stronger” the bouncing around like chickens fighting.

For Olympic Tae Kwon Do to survive as a sport in the long run, the sport needs to reinvent itself. Firstly, the Tae Kwon Do committee in the OIC needs to re-look at the scoring system in the free sparing event. Participants should be encouraged to execute proper techniques and encouraged to use more combination kicks and punches with extra points awarded for difficult executed techniques. Judges should penalize single technique fights such as round house kick through the match.

Secondly, new events such as high kick and distance kicks events should be introduced. For example participants should be competing on how high or how far they can successfully kick a static target over obstacles. This introduction will see improvements of the participants in every Olympics as they will be looking forward to break these height or distance kicking record. Even gymnastics has included the trampoline into its discipline.

Thirdly, OIC should include all Tae Kwon Do governing bodies in order for it to be recognized as a truly global sport. When the gold medal is awarded to a participant, the spectators will know that the person standing on the podium is really the world’s greatest."

Opening Ceremony was fantastic and mind blowing, although they were controversy over the fireworks and some of the events. But still, it was way awesome. As for the closing, it was kinda of a let down. Nothing spectacular except the fireworks display at the end. Talking about fireworks....this year didn't get to go to Putrajaya for the Fireworks Competition. ;(

Anyhow, 16 days passed so fast....now we shall await the next event - THE DELIVERY!!!

Sorry for the absence the last 2 months, been really busy. Time just flies doesn't it. Been nesting a lot, getting the house ready for baby's arrival. Been shopping a lot too, mostly buying baby stuff since got Mega Sale. Also with the start of the Olympics been glue pretty much to the tv. Also not forgetting visit to the doctors as well as to the library. So my life pretty boring nothing much exciting happening. Just waiting for the arrival of the little one and having a countdown...that's all. :)

UM Graduation 2008

Hehe not me la, its my hunny that graduated @ UM. Very proud of him as he came in top of his class (Master of Management). All the years of support and hard work paid off finally. Congratulations!!!!

The ceremony was really grand at Dewan Tunku Canselor. Raja Nazrin was there to give out the scrolls. Overall, long day for mummy and baby but we survived. Also was very happy in the evening at Graduation Dinner (Legend Hotel), both mummy and daddy won prizes. Mummy won a toaster at the lucky draw thanks to luck from baby and daddy won the best male dressed for the evening. Also daddy receive his Best Student of the Year Award.

Kungfu Panda

Little Penang Cafe - Mid Valley

This is us pigging out at 2pm Little Penang Cafe on Monday. We all got up late from watching Euro (ITA VS ESP). I actually was surprise to wake up at 4am to watch the game which Spain qualified to the quarter finals :P My baby is a big football fan, watch EPL now EURO. Tonight TUR VS GER. Not too sure want to watch or not. But will definately try to catch ESP VS RUS tom night :P

Ok enough about football bcak to lunch. Tracy and Chris just got back over the weekend and we decided to meet up for lunch. They both look so cute together.
We ordered assam laska, curry mee, char kuey teow, top hats, otak otak, lobak and cendol. Was good awesome but Chris said it was too spicy for him. He seems to like the lobak and top hats. He knows a few words in malay (jadi and tak jadi) and of course cantonese - POW CHA!!!! funny guy. Anyhow, after lunch we just jalan jalan for a bit in the mall. Wanted to go swimming but it was starting to rain :(

Also found out that Chris and I are born on the same day and same year...cool isn't it. :)

Also would like to thank them both for getting these cute baju for my little baby. Can't wait for he/she to wear them :P

Mother in Law - Prawn Curry

Last weekend, my mother in law invited us over to E-Ling place to eat Phil's favorite Prawn Curry. It was really yummy and tasty. Have to get recipe from her later. Can't seem to remember much these days :P

After lunch we rush over to Pantai Hospital, no no my water did not break. We had our last ante natal class - exercise and breathing. So fast the classes were over, Phil miss the previous one which turns out to be the most important one were they teach you to take care of the baby, how to handle the little one and bathe them. They also took us around the labor and maternity ward - preview of what to come :P

Now the only thing left is a bit more shopping to get the big items and sit and wait till baby comes....only 75 more days to go and counting.

Peter Grant at Alexis Bangsar

Just last week, the jazz performer from UK came to town. Seeing that Phil likes Jazz a lot we decided to go check him out. Decided to have dinner at Alexis then stayed on to watch the show. He's truly amazing, only 21 yrs old but voice very mature. He kinda reminds me of a younger version of Barry Manilow. Pregnant mummy actually went up to him to get his second album autograph. :P

The show was very entertaining as he's a great singer and performer. I can't say must about his audience. There were a couple of ppl who just really don't know how to behave themselves, talking/laughing loudly and public displace of affection (get a room pls ya). Overall, we had fun, its good to get out once in a while. It's been quite a while mummy and daddy gone out to a nice place for dinner.

Steamboat - Talipon

We had steamboat about a month back....just thought I blog about it. Food was ok, the guys did all the bbq - me just sat back. The bakwa pieces were really yummy and we kept on eating and eating. As for me, i was mostly looking forward to the durian ice cream at the end. Guess how many I had - 2.5 cones :P Pig ya

New Washer and Dryer

Daddy finally bought a new washer and dryer for mummy to clean clothes. We got a good deal at Harvey Norman. They just delivered it an hour ago. Unfortunately, can't try it out yet as the tap head is not matching. Will have to go out to the hardware store to get the adapter head and also see if they sell washing machine base so that it won't get wet on the floor.

We got the Electrolux 7KG Washer(EWF 1084)and 5kg Dryer (EDE429). Can't wait to try them both out. Now with the new electricity tariffs and increase in petrol prices, going to cost more to do laundry at home. Must start conserving water and energy soon.

Baby Shopping

My mommy bought us a Maclaren Techno XT in Singapore last month for my baby. We were down in Singapore for the Diamond Distributor Rally and came across an add for baby stuff. The XT was on sale, S$379 I think, can't remember memory loss is quite rapid these days. But its still cheaper than getting it here. Mom thinks that getting black color would be good since we still don't know the gender of the baby yet. Car seats was on sale too but didn't buy since it won't fit in the car.

My friend Grace, lend me her medela breast pump for expressing my breast milk. Comes in a really cool bag pack.

So far, I've bought some clothes, diapers, blankets, washing detergents and nappies for baby. I guess there's still lots more stuff to shop for. Car seat and playpen should be next on the list. Then baby cot, mattress, etc.

Chef at Home

It's been a while since my last posting. Been cooking lots more after the 3rd month of my pregnancy. Getting lots of inspiration from the AFC (Asian Food Channel), my favorite show now is watching Chef Michael Smith. Easy to follow and cook recipes. So far I have tried a few of the recipes and it turned out yummy.

During the 4th month of my pregnancy, baby/mommy was cravings mostly "ang mo" food. Anything not Chinese is the preferred menu. We had lots of fast food (mostly McD's and KFC), Dominos twice, Italian and Chilis. So during that month mommy was way over the weight limit. Thank god now we are back to eating more healthily, more home cook meals.

Ante Natal Classes - First Lesson

With only 100 days left till baby comes along, we've actually signed up last weekend for the ante natal classes at the hospital. The fees for 5 weeks of classes came up to RM200. Not bad, hope to learn lots from the class. The nurse who was conducting the class was not a good presenter, she just kept reading from the slides and even reading also pronounce all the words wrongly. So bad ya focus only on peoples bad point. Can't help it! English also very broken, but she knows her stuff.

First lesson was on the importance of breast feeding and how to breast feed baby. They showed us a video on how's baby suppose to latch on to our breast. The daddies were looking weird and making silly remarks. Asking if they could get a copy of the video to take home. :P Unfortunately, is all about practicing and getting the hang of the real thing. Got to wait till baby comes first.

Next class is on Monday night, going to learn about labor pain relief and care of newborn. This should be interesting, hopefully they will get the dad's more involve.

I'm pregnant !!!

Wow how time flies. Never expected to be pregnant so fast but yes our first child is on its way. Am now 15 weeks pregnant and baby is doing great. Not too sure about the sex of the baby yet (could be a little Mickey or Minnie), as long as its healthy we are very happy.

The last few months has been quite a roller coaster ride for me. Have been experiencing not morning sickness but evening sickness. Thank god no vomiting just nausea and fatigue. Been getting lots of rest and sleep. Was not eating very much especially in the evenings. Now very different, everything also wallop. This baby really likes to drink Ribena, eat lots of ice-cream, meat and now apples, just like daddy. Not too sure if that's considered cravings but so far so good. Haven't sent Philip out at wee hours in the morning to get me food yet...will have to see.

Overall, we are really thrilled and can't wait for the little one to make its debut.
I guess that's all the updates I have for you all now. Will post more stuff as I get bigger and bigger and closer to the due date.

It's been a while since I last wrote here. Right after the Merdeka day was busy with Wedding preparations. Sending invites, managing and arranging stuff for the Blessing Day as well as the Big Day. Oh ya not forgetting, renovation of new home which took up alot of my time. But am glad how it turn out :) Even Birthday celebration was put on hold. For wedding pics please see my other website ya. Fireworks Competition - Team Italy

This year Malaysia is hosting the World Fireworks Competition and a few countries are participating. Was kinda sad didn't get to go for the Opening as well as the Team Australia event. I heard it was magnificent. We made it to last Saturday's event by Team Italy. We got there at 6.45pm early but was worth it. We camped out at Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC) and managed to get a good place to take our pictures. We waited till 10pm before the actual show started and ended about 20 mins later. Here are some of my shots, most of them didn't come out that nice. Too much smoke and distortion. Also, the trip back from Putrajaya was a nightmare too...huge parking lot, took us like 2 hours to get home.
Will try taking pics again this coming Thurs were by Team Japan will be the final team to show off their stuff. Can't wait!!! Must go early and tapau lots of food and water :P

Fraser Hill in the Spring Time

My first time to Fraser Hill. We decided to to take a hideaway weekend up to the highlands as it was boiling hot down here in KL City. Last minute thingy, some more no hotel booking. Since, we have not explore Fraser Hill we decided to check what's up there.

It took up about 2 hours drive, we exited Rawang and headed towards Kuala Kubu Baru. Pass by the Chenderoh Dam on the way up. They made it very easy now, one way up and one way down. Need not wait for an hour like previously. We stay @ Pine Resort. Very nice and cosy...great for family.It was raining and very cooling up there. TV in the room was limited to TV1, TV2 and TV3...no Astro. After 10 plus the place was really quite.

We had Devonshire Tea plus scones at the Smokey House after checkin in the hotel. We drove around the place, nothing much. Quite sad the place look run down and not well maintained. We headed back to rest for bit before heading out to look for dinner. We found a nice cafe at Shazan Inn were Kim Lee and Phil had nasi goreng and I had the kids meal seafood platter.

The next morning we decided to get up bright and early to do some hiking. There's actually lots of trails to hike about and if you like bird watching, this is a place to be. So no one could decide on a trail and so I choose Rompin Trail thinking that it was short and easy. It turns outs I was very wrong...it was steep, slippery and challenging. So no go, we headed down wards to the waterfall area. It's really serene and quite there. Nice walk not as challenging but very relaxing and enjoying. Oh yah almost forgot about our special requested nasi lemak breakfast...yummy :P

After our hike we head back to the town center we we had tea and waited for the newspaper to be brought up by the local bus (11.30am) Check out was at 1pm after which we headed back down towards KL and stop at Sg. Buloh R&R to have Haji Samuri Kajang Satay. Then back home...short trip for the weekend.

The whole trip, eat eat and eat :P that's what malaysian are good for.
